Coora Field - Trinidad & Tobago
Cirrus Energy Corporation ("Cirrus") has engaged Tristone Capital Inc. ("Tristone") to seek proposals for the sale of its Trinidad and Tobago assets, held by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Cirrus Energy (Trinidad) Ltd. ("Cirrus Trinidad"). Cirrus Trinidad has a 49% working interest in the Coora Field leases, onshore Trinidad.
Concurrently with the engagement to sell Cirrus Trinidad, Tristone has also been engaged to seek proposals for the sale of Damus Oil Ltd ("Damus") who hold the remaining 51% working interest and operatorship of the Coora Field leases plus interests in two additional licences, onshore Trinidad.
The two interests ("Joint Interests") will be concurrently marketed resulting in the opportunity for potential bidders to acquire a 100% operated interest in the Coora leases and their subsequent primary and secondary development.
Key attributes of the Joint Interests include:
- Opportunity to acquire an established Trinidadian production company with 100% control of the assets which are located in the prolific Southern Basin of onshore Trinidad
- Production interests held through "Lease Operatorship Agreements" with the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago ("Petrotrin")
- Combined December 2007 gross production for both Cirrus Trinidad and Damus estimated at 318 bbl/d net oil
- Production stream varies from 12-35 API oil, and is sold to Petrotrin as 23 API blend and priced by reference to a world benchmark crude stream
- Cumulative Coora Field production greater than 83 MMbls from an OOIP of 310 MMbbls
- Substantial upside opportunities through recompletions (frac), reactivations, sidetrack drilling and secondary waterflood recovery
- Incremental recovery factors for individual pools ranging from 2 to 7% for primary re-development, to 20% for secondary recovery.
Third Party Reserve Evaluation by GLJ Petroleum Consultants Ltd. based in Calgary Alberta, Canada dated as of December 31, 2007 estimated gross remaining 2P reserves of 5.7 MMbbls plus contingent resources of 15.2 MMbbls
Cirrus and Damus have spent a significant amount of resources on geological and engineering technical evaluation efforts, and field investigative operations. These results provide the basis for proceeding with a significant primary re-development program as well as discussions with Petrotrin on secondary recovery opportunities for select pools within the Coora Field.
